Knitty City Poster

College Project

Project: Create an illustration with a strong typographical theme/focus for the advertising and promoting “Men’s Night Thursday at Knitty City” subway poster. The project also included to use a historical art reference of our choice

Objective: To create a visually appealing design advertising to men to join “Men’s Night at Knitty City” and to relate the design to a art history movement

Overall Visual: Informative, Art Reference, Exciting, and Attention grabbing

My Design: For this project I wanted to expand on the art movement art nouveau as most pieces were designed for men’s gaze to sell products that posters were advertising. I was heavily inspired by Alphonse Mucha, to which I created my Knitty City Poster referencing his art style. My typography was made using yarn string to relate back to the company’s focus.
